Montel Williams earned his media celebrity status as an inspirational Emmy Award winning television personality whom Americans invited into their homes for more than 17 years. He is a decorated former naval officer, inspirational speaker, author, entrepreneur and advocate for patients worldwide.

One of Williams’ current focuses is on NeuroHabilitation Corporation (NHC), a company he formed with three scientific inventors at the University of WI, medical device specialist Jonathan Sackier, and CEO Phil Deschamps, after Williams was involved in an MS study with the treatment at the University of Wisconsin, //tcnl.bme.wisc.edu. The treatment involves sending specially-patterned nerve impulses to a patient’s brain through an electrode-covered oral device called a “PoNS,” a battery-operated appliance placed on the tongue.

The 20-30 minute stimulation therapy, called cranial nerve non-invasive neuromodulation, or CN-NiNM, is accompanied with a custom set of physical, occupational, and cognitive exercises, based on the patient’s deficits. The idea is to improve the brain’s organizational ability and allow the patient to regain neural control. On February 8, 2013, the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command (USAMRMC) entered into a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement with NeuroHabilitation Corporation.

The new Agreement allows the Army to work with NHC and TCNL to further develop and evaluate the PoNS™ device for use with soldiers who have experienced blast-related traumatic brain injuries. Williams is also an advisor to Golden Renewable Energy (GRE), a Yonkers, NY based biofuel company. GRE produces EPA recognized renewable fuel from waste.

Through the combination of a unique process referred to as fluidized catalytic assisted thermal cracking or otherwise referred to as fluid catalytic cracking (“FCC”), GRE is able to convert a variety of carbon based waste feedstock materials into various renewable fuels. GRE has validated its proprietary processing techniques over the past 5 years using municipal waste and other forms of feedstock to produce EPA accepted renewable fuels such as ASTM D975 diesel fuel. GRE currently operates 1 plant in Yonkers, NY and is working on several additional prospective site locations within the New York City area.
