Tonya Rapley is the founder and editor of My Lab Finance and a millennial money expert, as well as a survivor of domestic violence. She is passionate about helping women be financially empowered so they don’t have to stay in unsafe or undesirable situations.

In 2007, Rapley was fighting for her life in a relationship that was physically, emotionally, and economically abusive. Grounded by resilience and purpose, today Rapley is a highly sought-after entrepreneur and coach. Rapley created the award-winning site My Fab Finance in 2013, catapulting her to the forefront as a nationally recognized millennial money expert. She was deemed the “New Face of Wealth Building” by Black Enterprise Magazine. Selected by TV One as a modern-day history maker, Rapley is a full-time entrepreneur, coach, and influencer. Rapley has spoken at Bloomberg, Essence Fest, South by Southwest (SXSW), Millennial Week, PepsiCo, Blogging While Brown, BlogHer, Circle of Sisters and a host of colleges and universities.

When she’s not working with individuals, Rapley lends her expertise as a consultant helping both established companies and startups forge meaningful connections with millennial influencers and their audiences. Her client list includes: Fidelity Investments, CouponFollow Prudential, State Farm, SoFi, Autogravity, Consumer Reports, the National Endowment for Financial Education, The California Minority Alliance, and CO-OP Think Financial Services.

A career change-agent committed to empowering disenfranchised communities, Rapley uses her own story and experiences to empower others with tools to change their lives. She has appeared on Forbes, US News, NY Daily News, Cheddar, Buzz Feed, Essence.com, The Root, Credit.com, Cosmopolitan, Reuters, Refinery29, Centric, and several other media outlets. She is a Charlotte, North Carolina, native and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from Florida International University and a Masters in Urban Policy Administration from Brooklyn College.
