Actor, producer, entrepreneur, and podcaster Tika Sumpter is a Hollywood mogul and savvy entrepreneur. Sumpter began her career as a TV personality and host of The N’s Best Friend’s Date, and went on to memorable roles on ABC’s One Life to Live, which garnered her an NAACP Image Award nomination, The CW’s Gossip Girl, and films like Stomp the Yard: Homecoming, Think Like a Man, A Madea Christmas, and more. She is known for OWN’s The Haves and the Have Nots, ABC’s Mixed-Ish, and is establishing herself as a sought-after producer with projects with Southside with You, co-produced with John Legend, and The Nomads, which won the Philadelphia Film Festival Award for Best Feature Film. Southside with You received significant acclaim at the Sundance festival, due in large part to Sumpter’s breakout performance as former First Lady Michelle Obama. She stars in Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and the new season of Run the World on Starz. Sumpter shares her inspiring personal story of grit and resilience, empowering audiences of all kinds to make their dreams a reality.

Inspired by her own experience with pregnancy and the lack of nuance and community in conversations for Black moms, Sumpter co-created and co-founded Sugaberry, a lifestyle brand and audio-first media company for and by Black women. She is focused on creating media and meaningful spaces of connection for moms of color, and co-created and co-hosts the Gracie Award-winning podcast, The Suga. Sumpter is an in-demand speaker for her insights about inclusion, creating a values-led business, and cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset in talks that impact audiences of all kinds.
