Tatiana Schlossberg is the author of Inconspicuous Consumption: The Environmental Impact You Don’t Know You Have, and former New York Times Science and climate reporter, whose award-winning work has also appeared in The Atlantic, Bloomberg, and The Boston Globe, among other publications.

 

Currently, she writes and speaks about climate change and the environment, with particular expertise around issues related to consumption, environmental justice, and sustainability. In her speeches, she weaves how the ecological impacts of much of our stuff connect all of us to global climate change and to each other, no matter where we live.

 

With a dry sense of humor, Schlossberg makes the climate crisis and its solutions exciting and relevant to everyone, by bringing this global problem down to the scale of our own lives. She empowers her audience to think about their consumerism and the environment in a new way, helping them make more educated choices when it comes to the future of our world.

 

Before becoming a reporter on the Metro desk of the New York Times in 2014, she worked as a municipal reporter at The Record (Bergen County) and also reported for the Vineyard Gazette.

 

A graduate of Yale University and the University of Oxford with degrees in history, Schlossberg is a granddaughter of President John F. Kennedy and First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy.
