A familiar voice to NPR listeners, Tamara Keith is a White House correspondent and co-host of the NPR Politics Podcast, the most listened-to podcast during the 2016 presidential campaign, where she covered Hilary Clinton. Ms. Keith is also a member of the “Politics Monday” team on PBS NewsHour, providing regular analysis, commentary and well-honed insights on President Trump, Congress and the inner-workings of Washington politics. A natural storyteller (with plenty of political war stories to share) Tamara Keith is an engaging speaker with a talent for interacting with audiences and bringing them along on one of one of the most interesting beats in news coverage.

Now one of NPR’s top journalists, Tamara Keith started listening to the network while she was strapped in a car seat. She began contributing essays to Morning Edition when she was 15 and worked through college at NPR member station KQED. After becoming the youngest graduate of the University of California, Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, she worked for a string of member stations before joining NPR as a business reporter in 2009. The following year, Ms. Keith was on the ground covering the earthquake in Haiti and the oil spill in the Gulf. In 2011, she conceived and solely reported The Road Back to Work, a year-long series featuring the audio diaries of six unemployed St. Louis residents. She also became a NPR Congressional correspondent, emphasizing coverage of House Republicans, the budget, taxes and fiscal fights. Ms. Keith is also known for B-Side Radio, the long-time public radio show and podcast that she co-founded, produced, hosted, edited, and distributed for nine years.

Speaking on topics ranging from the latest news out of the White House and Congress to the economic struggles of everyday Americans, Tamara Keith sparks conversation and frequently touches hearts. A keen observer of the barriers faced by women in politics and the demographic shifts that have left parents with little flexibility to manage work and childcare, she parallels her own experiences of career, motherhood and the endless search for balance. Inspiring all with her car seat-to-correspondent tale of achieving a childhood dream by never acknowledging that there were limits, Tamara Keith leaves audiences inspired, informed and viewing current events through a thought-provoking perspective.
