Since early in his television sportscasting days, Steve has used his communications skills to speak to groups across the country about a wide range of topics. He is recognized as an excellent public speaker. He always likes to weave into his speeches stories about his days in the television business often using the introductory line “did I ever tell you about the time.”

Upon hearing some of his stories, a close friend suggested that he turn his TV stories into a motivational speech unto itself. He did and the result was his one-hour presentation appropriately titled Did I Ever Tell You About The Time . . .

During his presentation, Steve tells stories about his early days in television and the impact former Notre Dame Head Basketball Coach Digger Phelps had on his broadcasting career; getting strong armed in a Las Vegas casino while covering Frank McGuire and the South Carolina Gamecocks basketball team; the time former heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali picked him up on a street corner in Washington, DC; his friendships with former Washington Redskins Quarterback Joe Theismann, ESPN broadcaster Mike Patrick, and boxer Sugar Ray Leonard; trying out for the Washington Redskins and getting cut by former Redskins Head Coach George Allen; being unceremoniously ushered out of the Masters Golf Tournament; and, being invited to The White House by President Gerald Ford; and, much more.

Did I Ever Tell You About The Time . . . is designed for business groups, associations, athletes and students and equates Steve’s many experiences in the television industry to success in business and life and how he came to develop his seven common-sense secrets to success.
