Ryan Zimmerman is an infielder for the Washington Nationals of the Major League Baseball (MLB). Zimmerman played his college baseball at the University of Virginia where he was names a 2005 All-American.

Ryan Zimmerman is an infielder for the Washington Nationals of the Major League Baseball (MLB). Zimmerman played his college baseball at the University of Virginia where he was names a 2005 All-American.

Zimmerman was drafted with the fourth overall pick in the 2005 MLB draft by the Washington Nationals. This was the franchise’s first ever draft pick as the Washington Nationals after completing their relocation from Montreal.

Nicknamed “Mr.National”, Zimmerman has gone on to be one of the league’s most consistent hitters during is 15 year MLB career. He is a two time MLB All-Star and two time Silver Slugger Award Winner.

In 2019 Zimmerman hit the first World Series home run for the Washington Nationals. This helped lead the Nationals World Series Championship.

After his mothers battle with multiple sclerosis, Zimmerman founded the ziMS Foundation, which is dedicated to treating and curing multiple sclerosis.
