Full Bio
Roshi is a Design Director and Associate Partner at IDEO. Since joining IDEO in 1998, she has worked toward deeper engagement with clients and other stakeholders through all forms of storytelling. Through communication, interaction, and new media design, Roshi explores and defines how people interact with objects, spaces, services, and one another.
Before embarking on a year-long externship in 2012 as the nomadic design director for IDEO’s Asia offices, Roshi was a former director of IDEO San Francisco, where she focused on designing a supportive and creative ecosystem that fostered good design through good talent. She has led work for Bank of America that resulted in their award-winning service, Keep The Change™, and in a completely different realm, helped design a vision for the Kauffman Foundation’s community development efforts. Her range of clients includes Anheuser-Busch InBev, Fotile Kitchenware, the Gap, Midea, NASA, Ritz-Carlton, Steelcase, and Timberland.
Roshi has also taught cross-disciplinary design at the California College of the Arts, designed websites at Microsoft and MSNBC, and coached IDEO workshop clients on ways to innovate. She was named one of the top 40 leading design innovators by I.D. Magazine in 2009.
She holds an MFA degree in Graphic Design/New Media from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, a BS degree in Design from the University of California, Davis, and spent a year at Il Bisonte International School of Graphic Arts in Florence, Italy, where she learned she is not an artist, but a problem-solving designer—and has felt driven ever since.
