Robin Roberts has been the anchor for ABC’s Good Morning America since 2005. She began contributing to the morning program in 1995. During her career, the broadcast has won three consecutive Emmy Awards and regained the status of being the number one morning show in 2012.
In addition to her work with ABC, Roberts served as an ESPN, Inc. sportscaster from 1990 until 2005, winning three Emmy Awards for her sportscasting. Some of Robert’s headline-making interviews include President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, NBA standout LeBron James on his announcement to play for the Miami Heat and Lisa Niemi on the loss of her husband, Patrick Swayze.
Roberts was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007. Her courageous and public battle has been recognized with awards and honors from organizations around the country, including Susan G. Komen, Congressional Families Cancer Prevention Program and Gilda’s Club. ESPN, Inc. awarded its Arthur Ashe Courage Award to Roberts at the 2013 ESPY Awards.
