Raquel Eatmon is a Entrepreneur, author, and possibility broker, Raquel Eatmon is CEO of the communications company Rising Media LLC and founder of the Woman of Power Leadership Conference in Cleveland, Ohio. Starting out with a promising career in television, she quickly climbed the ranks as an anchor/reporter in top markets. But over time she grew disillusioned with the broadcast news business and left her high-profile position in search of deeper purpose.
That purpose became women’s empowerment. Eatmon documented her own struggle to overcome rejection and give meaning to her work in Strut Your Stuff: Principles in Purpose, Power, and Position, a resource guide for women seeking to change their lives. She continues to deliver her motivational messages in a national newspaper column, Be Inspired with Raquel, and is a regular contributor to the Huffington Post. Eatmon currently serves on the advisory board of the Ursuline College Center of Excellence in Leadership.
Before taking her stand as an entrepreneur, Raquel was a T.V. anchor/ reporter in such markets as CBS 11 in Dallas, Texas. While covering a range of topics she is most proud of interviews with Hurricane Katrina survivors, Maya Angelou and Patti LaBelle.
Raquel left the news business to fulfill a greater passion. Raised by three women: Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, Raquel longed to work in women’s empowerment. She developed a now, 8-year running weekly Gannett newspaper column “Be Inspired with Raquel”. She also authored Strut Your Stuff: Principles in Purpose, Power & Position.
Raquel majored in Journalism at Norfolk State University and Cleveland State University, where she remained on the Dean’s List. She is a highly regarded businesswoman with such clients as Sherwin Williams, Vitamix, AXA Advisors and more.
She lives in Cleveland, Ohio and is an Advisory Board member at Ursuline College Center of Excellence in Leadership. She is an advocate for wellness and happiness

Testimonials
Raquel Eatmon was an exceptional addition to the Personal and Professional Development track at the 2012 Small Business Convention. Her high-energy and interactive presentation left her audience feeling empowered and ready to apply what they learned towards improving their lives and businesses. From a behind-the-scenes standpoint, working with Raquel has been an absolute pleasure. She is organized, kind and professional, and communicates very well. For these reasons, in addition to the outstanding feedback received from her presentation, we couldn’t wait to invite Raquel to present a longer, more in-depth workshop for our membership!
Raquel is a dynamic presenter. She has a way of captivating a crowd that draws people into her message. She offers practical ways to apply her message to your life and see an immediate impact. I recommend Raquel for any speaking opportunities. The participants of our program are still talking about what they learned from Raquel Cassandra Washington.
