Ramy Inocencio joined Bloomberg from the Wall Street Journal Asia where he served as Deputy Editor, Video in Hong Kong for Asia-Pacific news as an anchor and reporter for WSJ Live. In the field, he covered the Philippine devastation from Typhoon Haiyan in 2013, Hong Kong’s massive pro-democracy Umbrella Revolution in 2014, and Pope Francis’ first visit to the Philippines and Asia’s only majority-Catholic country in 2015.

Prior to the Wall Street Journal, Inocencio served as CNN International’s Asia business correspondent in Hong Kong covering regional stock and finance news and as CNN’s NASDAQ reporter from Times Square in New York covering tech shares.

Inocencio has been a long-time member of the Asian-American Journalists Association and served as president of the 200-member Asia chapter of the AAJA.

A native of the Washington, D.C. area, he has lived much of the past 15 years in Asia, including Beijing and Singapore, first arriving as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in rural Sichuan province in 2000.
