Paul Mecurio is an Emmy and Peabody Award-winner for his work on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. He has appeared in his own Comedy Central Special, starred in his own series on HBO, appeared on dozens of television programs. Paul graduated with honors from Georgetown Law School and began his career on Wall Street as a mergers and acquisitions lawyer at Willkie Farr and Gallagher and later as an investment banker at CS First Boston. All the while, he was honing a second career writing and performing comedy and was hired by Jay Leno to write jokes for The Tonight Show. With Leno’s encouragement, Paul left Wall Street in 1995 and started his career as a stand-up comedian.

The Daily Show. Paul was invited to be on the writing team for a new Comedy Central show called The Daily Show in 1996. As a writer for the show, he won the Emmy Award in 2001 for Outstanding Individual Achievement In Writing In A Variety, Music or Comedy Program. Paul has also been honored with a Peabody Award for Excellence in Broadcasting (think The Pulitzer Prize for Broadcasting) for his work on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart: Indecision 2000. In 2002, Paul received his second Emmy nomination. He has also been featured on the show as a correspondent and in the segment, “Second Opinion,” in which he satirized the medical profession. In addition to writing, he is also currently the warm-up comedian for the The Daily Show.

Media Maven.A national headliner in clubs across North America and in Europe, Paul has performed three times at the prestigious Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal and has made dozens of national TV appearances. He is a contributor to CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, and CNBC and a regular satirist on The Late, Late Show, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Tonight Show, The Daily Show, Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn, Late Friday, Dr. Katz, Hannity, The Joy Behar Show, Dylan Ratigan, Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld, and VH1’s popular clip shows. He has also performed as the warm-up comedian on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and is heard by millions in his recurring segment, “Paul Mecurio’s Image Makeover” on the nationally-syndicated radio show, The Bob & Tom Show.
