Nikesh Shukla is an award-winning, best-selling writer of books and television. TIME Magazine recently named Shukla one of the twelve leaders shaping the next generation of artists. He was also included in Foreign Policy magazine's 100 Global Thinkers and The Bookseller's 100 most influential people in publishing in 2016 and 2017. The recognition is well warranted.

Nikesh Shukla is the author of three novels and the recipient of numerous awards. Most recently, he authored the critically acclaimed The One Who Wrote Destiny (2018). His debut novel, Coconut Unlimited, was shortlisted for the Costa First Novel Award 2010. His second novel, Meatspace was released to critical acclaim in 2014.

Shukla has written for The Guardian, Observer, Independent, Esquire, Buzzfeed,Vice and BBC2, LitHub, Guernica and BBC Radio 4. He is also the visionary and the editor of the essay collection, The Good Immigrant, where 21 British writers of color discuss race and immigration in the UK. The Good Immigrant won the reader’s choice at the Books Are My Bag Awards and was shortlisted for Book of the Year at the British Book Awards. A television show inspired by The Good Immigrant is currently in development. The Good Immigrant USA, co-edited with Chimene Suleyman, was released to acclaim from the New York Times, Kirkus, TIME Magazine, Publisher’s Weekly, and more.

Shukla has a particular passion for young people and the development of their identity beyond being seen as “the other” within the countries they call home. He is the author of two Young Adult novels, Run, Riot and The Boxer which will be released in June of 2019.

Shukla continues to be a sought after international speaker on topics of race, racism, Brexit, and the rise of populism for festivals, conferences, and several universities.
