CEO and Serial Entrepreneur Nancy Lublin has built and led some of the world’s most innovative and far-reaching nonprofits, including Crisis Text Line, Dress for Success, and DoSomething.org. Called one of the “most creative people in business” by Fast Company, Lublin was named one of the “World’s 50 Greatest Leaders” by Fortune.

A strategist with expertise in technology, philanthropy, teen brand marketing, and corporate citizenship, Lublin brings to the stage her vast experiences in business and philanthropy to discuss disruption, reimagining corporate culture, and leveraging big data to create social good.

During her 2013 TED Talk, Lublin launched Crisis Text Line, the world’s first 24/7, free, text message-based support service for people facing a range of issues, including depression, emotional disorders, substance abuse, and physical abuse. With over 100 million text messages processed, Lublin is still expanding Crisis Text Line across the globe, allowing people to text in and get help. Using this data, Lublin launched a separate initiative called Crisis Trends to track issues when and where they occur. In 2019, Prince William and Kate Middleton, along with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle launched Shout, a U.K. affiliate of Crisis Text Line.

According to LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, “Relatively few Silicon Valley start-ups achieve the sort of traction and transformative influence as quickly as Crisis Text Line has to date …. [Lublin] recognized that technology and Big Data analytics would allow her relatively small team to extend support services to more people, faster.”

Repurposing many of the learnings from Crisis Text Line, Lublin founded LORIS.AI, a for-profit subsidiary that uses machine learning to teach companies and leaders how to have difficult conversations about everything from performance and human relations to firings, layoffs, and diversity and inclusion.

An Advisor of City Light Capital, Lublin has consulted brands like Pepsi and Chase and several tech start-ups. She was appointed to the McGraw-Hill Education Board of Directors in 2015 and serves as an Aspen Institute Crown Fellow.

After taking over as CEO of DoSomething.org in 2003, Lublin brought the organization back from 250k debt in less than five months and attracted more than 3.5 million members. At age 23, she turned a $5,000 inheritance into Dress for Success, a global nonprofit, helping more than one million women in 30 countries achieve economic independence.

Her various awards and honors include Forbes’s “Trailblazer Award” and Fast Company’s “Fast 50 Award.” She has been named a World Economic Forum “Young Global Leader,” the Social Entrepreneur of the Year by the Schwab Foundation, one of the NonProfit Times’ 50 Most Powerful Leaders three years in a row, and one of the top 50 Influencers on LinkedIn.

Lublin is the author of the bestseller Zilch: The Power of Zero in Business, and has been featured on Oprah60 MinutesCNN, and in The New York TimesWall Street Journal, and The Economist.
