Co-Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Avenue Capital Group Marc Lasry is a renowned financial strategist and a Co-Owner of the Milwaukee Bucks NBA franchise. Lasry founded Avenue Capital Group with his sister, Sonia Gardner, as a global alternative investment manager focused on distressed and undervalued debt and equity opportunities in the U.S., Europe, and Asia, and it has grown to one of the largest distressed debt investors globally, managing assets of approximately $11.9B. He is heralded as a pioneer in distressed investing, which has been the focus of his career, and his insights are sought-after for speaking events with Reuters Global Investment Summit, the SALT Conference, the Young President’s Organization, and more.

Lasry has a background in law, and previously worked as the Director of the private debt department at R. D. Smith, the Co-Director of the bankruptcy and corporate reorganization department of Cowen & Company, and with the Robert Bass Group, managing over $100M. He is currently a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and serves on numerous boards of advisors and directors for both for-profit and non-profit private and public companies. Lasry shares takeaways for high-level investing, the impacts of current events and policy on businesses and individuals, and strategies for carving your own path across industries to cultivate an eclectic portfolio in events that will make an impact with audiences of all kinds.
