Lynn Goldman is dean of the George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services. Goldman, an experienced pediatrician and epidemiologist, is a member of the Institute of Medicine. Prior to joining GW, she was a professor at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, assistant administrator for the Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and a medical officer at the California Department of Public Health.

Among many accolades, Dean Goldman received a 2009 Heinz Award, given to innovators addressing global change caused by the impact of human activities. She was awarded alumna of the year by the UC Berkeley School of Public Health, received the Woodrow Wilson Award for Excellence in Government from Johns Hopkins University and was named one of 150 outstanding alumni by the University of California San Francisco.

Goldman received her M.D. from the University of California, San Francisco; a master of science degree in health and medical sciences from the University of California, Berkeley; and an M.P.H. from what was then the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health.
