Laurence “Larry” Vincent is the Chief Branding Officer of United Talent Agency, where he co-founded the agency’s award-winning Brand Studio. Vincent is an award-winning writer, veteran brand strategist, educator, and podcast producer.
Driven by the mantra that “story is strategy,” Vincent has pioneered narrative approaches to brand-building that combine insights from consumer research with best practices in storytelling and visual design. His creatively strategy approach serves broad range of UTA client ventures and initiatives.
His near 30-year portfolio includes leading teams of researchers, strategists, and designers to launch brands for Seth Rogen, Sofía Vergara, Channing Tatum, and Lauren Conrad, among others. Some of the world’s biggest companies have also benefitted from his masterful insights, including Disney, Mattel, Nikon, Sony Playstation, Qualcomm, Microsoft, WebMD, and the NFL.
Vincent’s podcast, The Findings Report, is a cultural digest for people who are curious about why we buy, like, and share. Its mission is to provide valuable insights for marketers, entrepreneurs, and cause leaders. He is also a sought-after speaker on brands, consumer behavior, leadership, and marketing innovation. His first book Legendary Brands, has been translated into seven languages. It is a seminal examination of link between narrative and brand value. His most recent book, Brand Real, was selected by strategy+business magazine as one of the best business books. He has also written articles for European Business Review and Forbes. When Vincent is not building brands, writing, or podcasting, he teaches the next generation of leaders at his alma mater, USC Marshall School of Business. His limited series podcast, The Customer Class, was created to accompany his USC lectures
Vincent’s family life and life as a storyteller converged in 2004 when his daughter was diagnosed with brain cancer. He has written extensively about her experiences on Jordan’s Journey, a blog that chronicles the inspiring will and perseverance of his Cancer Slayer. That experience has also made him a dedicated advocate for childhood cancer fighters and a proud board member of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.
Vincent lives in Santa Monica, California, with his family.
