He is the author of more than a dozen best-selling books over the past two decades, including Eye of the Needle, which first catapulted Follett to international best-seller status. Published in 1978, the thriller won the Edgar award and has sold well over 10 million copies.
Going on to write many more best sellers, Ken Follett is unquestionably one of the most extraordinarily talented storytellers in the world. From thrillers such as The Key To Rebecca and the award-winning Jackdaws, to the nonfiction On Wings of Eagles and novels like The Pillars of the Earth, about building a cathedral in the middle ages, the common thread in all of his books is a powerful narrative drive, strong women characters, and elements of suspense and intrigue.
His current project is his most ambitious yet. The Century Trilogy will tell the entire history of the twentieth century, seen through the eyes of five linked families: one American, one English, one German, one Russian, and one Welsh. The first book, Fall of Giants, focusing on the First World War and the Russian Revolution, was published worldwide on September 28, 2010. The second book, Winter of the World, about the Spanish Civil War, the Second World War, and the development of nuclear weapons, was published in many countries on September 18, 2012.
