As an Emmy, Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild award-winner, Julianna Margulies has achieved success in television, theatre, and film.

Best known for her iconic roles on The Good Wife and ER, Margulies is currently on Showtime’s hit drama Billions and recently starred in the Nat Geo limited series The Hot Zone, based on the true story of the origins of the Ebola Virus.

With an impressive personal history of strong leadership and activism, Margulies exemplifies the difference one person can make when they see the world, and the people in it, as part of something bigger than themselves. Starting with her grandmother (who was among the first women to graduate NYU Law School), Margulies has stepped up to give voice to many social issues and advocate for women and children. She has personally been involved in Project ALS, the world’s leading ALS research organization, since its inception, and Erin’s Law and the rebuilding efforts of the Rockaways, along side the St. Bernard Project, after Super Storm Sandy. She is also a longstanding board member of the New York City based theater company MCC, a company dedicated to giving the American playwright a voice and a platform.

In her moving remarks, Margulies discusses her advocacy work and the importance of fighting for the causes you believe in.
