Los Angeles-based comedian Jo Koy has come a long way from his modest beginnings performing stand-up comedy at a Las Vegas coffee house, to a hugely successful career selling out shows in clubs across the nation. His infectious, explosive energy on stage, insightful jokes, and family-inspired humor cross all boundaries.

Raised in Tacoma, Washington, Jo draws inspiration from his family, and credits his mother for his comedic and acting talents. She encouraged him to participate in school talent shows and to hold impromptu performances for his family and friends. This loving support led him to pursue stand-up comedy first in Las Vegas, and then Los Angeles.

In 2005, he had the opportunity of a lifetime with a performance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, where he became one of a select few ever to receive a standing ovation.

Jo Koy has had two Comedy Central specials “Don’t Make Him Angry” and “Lights Out.” He has appeared on VH1, World’s Funniest Fails, The Joy Behar Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Last Call with Carson Daly and Jamie Foxx: Laffapalooza , as well as appearing on over 100 episodes of “Chelsea Lately.”

Koy is a firm believer in service and giving back to the community and is currently working with The Lupus Foundation to bring awareness to this cause.
