An American director, screenwriter and legendary choreographer Jeffrey Hornaday moved to Hollywood right out of high school and within four short years was choreographing iconic dance numbers for films such as “Dick Tracy,” “Flashdance” and “A Chorus Line.” During that time he had the privilege of working alongside Francis Ford Coppola, George Lucas, Richard Attenborough, Mel Brooks and Warren Beatty. Hornaday now takes on the role of both director and choreographer in the Disney Channel film “Teen Beach Movie.”
In addition to directing and choreographing music videos for artists such as Paul McCartney, Michael Jackson and Stevie Nicks, Hornaday choreographed Michael Jackson’s “Captain EO” the groundbreaking 3D film appearing at Disney theme parks worldwide.
After directing his first feature film “Shout,” starring John Travolta, Gwyneth Paltrow and Heather Graham, Hornaday was accepted to Yale where he spent four years pursuing his passion for writing and English literature.
He returned to Hollywood where he conceived and directed world tours for artists including Madonna, Paul McCartney, Mariah Carey, the Backstreet Boys, Miley Cyrus and Reba McEntire. In the corporate world Hornaday has been instrumental in enhancing the brands of some of the largest corporations. Microsoft, Lexus, Nike, Intel and Honda are among the clients for whom he has originated breathtaking, original marketing programs and product launches that have captured the imaginations of both businesses and consumers worldwide.
He has now returned to directing movies and was recently honored by his peers with a nomination from the Director’s Guild of America Award for his work on the hit Disney Channel movie “Geek Charming.”
