Jarod Miller is one of America’s most beloved zoologists and television personalities. Growing up in Western New York, and while still in high school, Jarod studied and raised a variety of animals, developed educational programs. While earning a BS degree in zoology and started producing and appearing on national television. Jarod’s primary interest is animal behavior and has applied his knowledge and firsthand experience to the advancement of welfare and husbandry practices of captive wildlife. He started his zoo career at the world-famous Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in OH and became the youngest zoo director in the nation at age 25, when hired to operate and develop the historic Binghamton Zoo in NY. Jarod regularly travels the globe and participates in several in situ wildlife conservation efforts in some of the most remote and hostile regions of the planet, including the Peruvian Amazon, Southeast Asia, and Africa.
Jarod is best known as a popular television host and guest, since the age of 19; with hundreds of regular guest appearances on late night and daytime talk shows, including Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Wayne Brady Show, Steve Harvey and Racheal Ray (monthly guest for the past 13 seasons), and a regular contributor for NBC Today, Good Morning America, CBS Early Show, CNN, MSNBC, and The Weather Channel. His own television series include Animal Exploration with Jarod Miller (airing in worldwide syndication since 2007), Petfinder on Animal Planet, and CBS’s primetime hit Greatest American Dog. He has been featured on Entertainment Tonight and named as one of People Magazine’s Sexiest Men Alive in 2008. Jarod is also a popular guest speaker on wildlife conservation for zoos, museums universities, and fund raisers, including the White House and The American Museum of Natural History; and spokesperson for Dawn ® Saves Wildlife, Fisher Price ® Little People’s Zoo, and K-9 Advantix ® campaigns. He is also a talented television producer, promoter, and consultant (Clients including National Geographic, Discovery Channel and PBS), and advocate and advisor for many animal and human service causes.
