Jane Poynter is the world’s first female space travel entrepreneur. The British-born Poynter, who was sealed in an artificial, self-sustaining world for two years as a Biosphere 2 crewmember and wrote a book about it, has been spearheading advancements and research within the global space community for decades.

Former Ventures
Jane worked with the World Bank on projects to mitigate global climate change and grow crops in drought-stricken Africa and Central America. She is President of Blue Marble Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to leadership in science, sustainability and exploration. She also serves as President & Chairwoman of the Paragon Space Development Corporation (one of Inc. 500’s fastest growing companies for four years straight) and sits on the City of Tucson’s Climate Change Committee.
Jane’s adventures and business accomplishments have made her a frequent speaker at events hosted by groups such as the United Nations, the US Environmental Protection Agency, TEDx, National Space Symposium, NASA, MIT, and Microsoft.
Fun Facts
In 2009 the National Association for Female Executives awarded Ms. Poynter its Entrepreneur of the Year award.
In her spare time, Jane races motorcycles and performance sports cars.
Jane is a world-class scuba diver – her favorite dive spot? The Galapagos Islands.
Jane once lived and worked on a cattle ranch in the outback of Australia.
