With her own unique flare and infectious sense of humor, Rae first garnered attention for her award-winning web series and the accompanying New York Times best-seller, “The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl.” She created and stars in the hit HBO show, Insecure, for which she received an Emmy nomination and two Golden Globe nominations. Rae made her film debut in the acclaimed drama, “The Hate U Give,” and stars in the upcoming romantic drama, “The Photograph” and romantic comedy, “LOVEBIRDS”.

In 2021, Rae inked an eight-figure film and television deal with WarnerMedia that brings her Hoorae media label in partnership with WarnerMedia. The pact gives HBO, HBO Max and Warner Bros. television exclusive rights to Rae’s work in TV, plus a first-look film deal that spans WarnerMedia brands, including Warner Bros. Pictures Group, New Line and HBO Max.

Rae, HBO Max and Miramax are reviving the critically acclaimed docuseries “Project Greenlight,” which originally spotlighted first-time filmmakers on HBO. The new “Project Greenlight” will focus on talented female filmmakers who are given the chance to direct a feature film. Rae will appear in every episode as an executive producer, providing guidance and mentorship to the aspiring filmmakers.
