Heather McMahan is an actress and comedian, known for Good Grief, Love Hard and The Trap, and her wildly popular podcast Absolutely Not.

McMahan began her career in Los Angeles, where she struggled to break into the entertainment industry. Following her father’s death in 2015, she moved back home to Atlanta where she was worried that her comedy career might be over. But like so many things in life, after the dark came the light and by taking her signature self-deprecating humor to Instagram her career has exploded. McMahan describes herself as a “high-functioning hot mess express” and makes herself the butt of her own jokes because she believes it is important to be able to laugh at herself, and wants to emphasize that for her audience.

By posting comedic skits to Instagram, McMahan amassed hundreds of thousand followers on the platform who were drawn to her quick wit, relatability and over sharing. McMahan leveraged her social media presence into performing live stand up streams during the 2020 quarantine and sold over 20,000 tickets. McMahan is a frequent co-host on Today With Hoda & Jenna, does standup across the country and is acting in full-length films.
