David Robinson, a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a degree in mathematics, spent 14 years in the NBA with the San Antonio Spurs. He was inducted into the basketball Hall of Fame in September 2009 and among other honors, won the league MVP, two NBA championships, two Olympic Gold Medals and is among the preeminent philanthropists in professional sports leading to the NBA’s creation of the David Robinson Plaque given to current players in recognition of their outstanding community service.

Long recognized for his commitment to community development and education, he is the founder of The Carver Academy (“TCA”) in San Antonio and has contributed more than $10 million to the San Antonio community and TCA to create a nurturing and inspiring academic environment.

He previously served as a board member of the USAA Federal Savings Bank and currently serves on the board of the United States Naval Academy Foundation and Centerplate, one of the nation’s leading food service providers. He was also instrumental in launching the Admiral Center, a non-profit initiative formed in partnership with Living Cities to support professional athletes and entertainers with their philanthropic endeavors.
