Christiane Amanpour won worldwide acclaim for her reporting from some of the most dangerous places on the planet. Whether it was Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, Pakistan, Somalia, Rwanda or the Balkans, Amanpour was there, bringing conflicts into context and asking the tough questions. No stranger to conflict in the international arena, Amanpour was born in Iran but fled the country with her family. Her background and experience covering conflict make her an insightful commentator on global affairs as well as an expert interpreter of international headlines-and their effects and influence across cultures. No international network correspondent has reported as continuously from all of the world’s trouble spots as much as Amanpour and few have her record of awards and journalistic accomplishments. Based in London, Amanpour is CNN’s chief international anchor and host of the network’s award-winning, flagship global affairs program “Amanpour,” which also airs on PBS in the United States. She provides audiences with an in-depth look at global events and their impact both in the U.S. and around the world.
