Whether it’s on television, radio, before audiences, or one-on-one, Cheryl Martin is passionate about being an effective communicator. During this exciting season of life, Cheryl’s desire is to cultivate every dream God has placed in her heart. This commitment led her to walk away from a successful full-time career in broadcast journalism as a news anchor and moderator with BET, the national cable network.
Since then, she’s become an author, communications coach, and a popular speaker for churches, colleges, corporations, community and government institutions.
Whether it’s in person, on radio or television, audiences experience Cheryl using the ABCs of Accuracy, Boldness, and Clarity, mixed with humor in her presentations. She continues to draw upon her skills and professionalism when she’s hired for freelance broadcast opportunities, media consulting, or emceeing events.
Cheryl is the host of the weekly radio broadcast Excellent Living. Each program is designed to enrich, empower, and encourage listeners with practical and relevant principles for making wise choices and living with purpose.
Knowledge is power. Cheryl believes if you’ve acquired wisdom for skillful living, you should share it. She did just that when she penned the popular book, 1st Class Single, a reliable roadmap for singles to date and wait God’s way.
Cheryl’s background includes a BS in Radio-Television and a Master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Northwestern University. She has interviewed President Bill Clinton, General Colin Powell, and Secretary of State Condolezza Rice.
She was among the first alumni inducted into the School of Journalism’s Hall of Achievement for excellence in journalism.
