Anthony Ramos is a Grammy®-winning & Emmy Nominated Actor & Singer, known for inaugurating the dual roles of “John Laurens” and “Philip Hamilton” in the critically acclaimed, TONY Award-winning Broadway musical HAMILTON.

Ramos can be seen starring as “Usnavi” in Jon M. Chu’s IN THE HEIGHTS, the film adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tony Award-winning musical. Ramos also appears in HBO’s reimagining of the Emmy® Award-winning series IN TREATMENT opposite Uzo Aduba.  Additionally, Ramos will star in Amblin’s upcoming sci-fi comedy, DISTANT, directed by Will Speck and Josh Gordon starring opposite Naomi Scott, and the next installment of the TRANSFORMERS franchise from Paramount.

Additional credits as an actor include his role opposite Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper in the Academy® Award-winning film A STAR IS BORN, starring as ‘Mars Blackmon’ in Spike Lee’s critically-acclaimed Netflix series SHE’S GOTTA HAVE IT and voicing ‘King Trollex’ in Paramount’s TROLLS WORLD TOUR.

Ramos earned rave reviews for his role as ‘Manny’ in Reinaldo Marcus Green’s award-winning film MONSTERS AND MEN, which premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival winning the Special Jury Prize. Ramos himself won the 2019 Imagen Award for Best Actor in a Feature Film, on behalf of MONSTERS AND MEN. Ramos can additionally be seen in Warner Brothers’ GODZILLA: KING OF MONSTERS, Elizabeth Woods’ WHITE GIRL and Geremy Jasper’s,  PATTI CAKE$, which was named on the National Board of Review’s Top Ten Independent Films of 2017.

Ramos was recently a part of Calvin Klein’s Spring 2021 campaign entitled “Blank Canvas.” Photographed by Mario Sorrenti and directed by Terence Nance, the campaign captured storytellers, visionaries and creators of today telling their stories through intimate and surreal visuals, dialogue and movement.  Included on TIME 100’s prestigious “Next” list, highlighting emerging leaders who are shaping the future, Anthony Ramos also recently appeared on the covers of The Hollywood Reporter and Time Magazine’s, ” Next Generation of Leaders”.

As a recording artist, Ramos made his solo debut with the release of his EP, Freedom, a collection of future soul pop anthems inspired by the 2016 presidential election and political climate in the world. The EP garnered critical acclaim, attracting the attention of Republic Records, who signed him soon after. In 2019, Ramos released his debut album, The Good & The Bad, via Republic Records. The album received extensive critical praise and debuted in the Top 10 on iTunes Pop Albums Chart upon release. He then released an uplifting single “Stop” in 2020 which spoke to the unprecedented times of the pandemic and social activism.

This past June, the prolific artist released his highly anticipated sophomore album, titled Love and Lies which showcases a major evolution for Ramos, leaning into a sensuous R&B sound and provocative lyrics.

Anthony Ramos was born and raised in Bushwick, Brooklyn and is of Puerto Rican descent.
