New York Times bestselling author, sociologist, and advocate Anna Malaika Tubbs holds a Ph.D in Sociology and a Masters in Multidisciplinary Gender Studies from the University of Cambridge, in addition to a Bachelors in Anthropology from Stanford University. Her research, writing, and talks are centered on gender and race issues in the U.S., especially as these relate to the erasure of Black women. Tubbs is the author of The New York Times bestseller The Three Mothers: How the Mothers of Martin Luther King, Jr., Malcolm X, and James Baldwin Shaped a Nation, a New York Times Editors’ Choice and an Amazon Editor’s Choice book, among many other accolades. She is currently working on her first fiction, and recently sold her next two non-fiction books. Tubbs’ TED Talk How Moms Shape the World has already garnered over 1.4M views, and she is highly sought-after for her focus on feminism, intersectionality, and inclusion, offering profound insights that make an impact with audiences of all kinds.
Tubbs has been published in TIME, New York Magazine, The Guardian, CNN, and Motherly, and her work has been featured in The New York Times, Forbes, The Washington Post, and more.
