Bold. Strong. Authentic. These are just a few words that define Brittney Griner – an icon in the making pushing boundaries, redefining her sport and creating visibility for those who have not yet found their voice. With her 6’9″ frame, 88-inch wingspan and adventure loving spirit, BG doesn’t just break the mold – she shatters it. She is that rare kind of athlete, one who transcends the game and connects with fans on a deeper level.

On the court, she is fierce, smooth and relentless, showcasing a blend of size and skill not seen before in women’s basketball. Off the court, she is a lovable humanitarian, committed to helping create a more inclusive society, ending bullying, practicing kindness and compassion and expanding the opportunities for people to reach their full potential through her work hands-on with organizations like the Phoenix Rescue Mission, It Gets Better Project and a range of LGBTQ service focused organizations. As she continues to refine her skills and elevate her game, she is the flashpoint for a new generation of athletes, those who know that to be the best, they must also be unapologetically true to themselves.

In addition to her athletic prowess and philanthropic efforts, BG has also graced the covers and pages of Elle, ESPN Magazine, People, Out, Curve, Stand Up, Mother Jones, USA Today and Business Insider. She is also a New York Times Best Selling Author and ESPY award winner for Best Female Athlete.

On February 17, 2022, Griner was detained and arrested on smuggling charges by Russia. She had been playing basketball with the Russian Premier League during the WNBA off-season. On December 8, Griner was released in a prisoner!
